Clipset is a desktop application that runs entirely on your computer. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or process any personal data. Your files never leave your machine.

Our website (clipset.app) uses Google Analytics, the TikTok pixel, and the X (Twitter) pixel to understand visitor traffic and measure advertising effectiveness. This is separate from the desktop application, which has no analytics or tracking of any kind.

The Clipset app does not:

Our website uses Google Analytics, the TikTok pixel, and the X (Twitter) pixel, which collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, referral source, approximate location (country/city), browser type, and device type. This data is used solely to understand how visitors find and use our website and to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. These services use cookies and similar technologies to distinguish unique visitors. No personally identifiable information is collected through our website.

How the App Works

Clipset processes video files locally on your Mac using FFmpeg. All video encoding, file reading, and file writing happens on your device. No internet connection is required to use the app.

The only network request Clipset may make is an optional check for software updates. This request contains no personal data — it only checks a version number against a public URL.

Third-Party Services

FFmpeg: Clipset uses FFmpeg for video processing. FFmpeg runs locally on your machine and does not transmit any data. FFmpeg is open-source software licensed under the LGPL/GPL. More information: ffmpeg.org

Google Analytics (website only): Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyze how visitors use the site. The information generated by the cookie (including your truncated IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google. We use this data to improve our website. TikTok Pixel (website only): Our website uses the TikTok pixel, a tracking tool provided by TikTok Inc. The TikTok pixel uses cookies and similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and understand how visitors interact with our website. Polar (payment processor): When you purchase Clipset, your payment is processed by Polar (polar.sh) and Stripe. Polar and Stripe handle your payment information (credit card, billing address, email) under their own privacy policies. We do not have access to your full credit card details. We may receive your name and email address for the purpose of delivering your purchase and providing customer support.

Data Storage

Clipset stores project files (JSON) and application preferences locally on your Mac in standard application directories. These files contain only your project configuration (section names, file paths, settings). They are never transmitted anywhere.

Children’s Privacy

Clipset does not knowingly collect any data from children or anyone else. Since we collect no data, no age-specific provisions apply.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect or store any personal data, there is no personal data to access, modify, export, or delete. Your project files and generated videos are stored locally on your device and are fully under your control.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of Clipset after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
